Form W-2C Corrected Employee Federal, Copy B

Form W-2C corrects information originally filed on a W-2, and Copy B is the version the employee keeps for their federal tax filing after a correction. Payroll departments issue this whenever a previously filed W-2 needs a fix — wages, withholding or another field — and the correction has to reach the employee’s own federal records.

Fill in the correction year on each form before printing, since a W-2C always needs to state which tax year it amends. These are one-up sheets with no side perforation, printed and handled individually rather than split from a multi-copy layout. W-2C totals are later summarized on a Form W-3C, so keep your correction records organized by year as they go out. Order by the sheet, in a minimum of 25 and in multiples of 25.
