This condensed 6-part set keeps Copy B and Copy C on a single shared sheet instead of printing them separately, while the employer copies and the state/local copies stay on their own standard 2-up forms. It’s a middle ground between a full 6-sheet stack, where every copy has its own page, and a fully condensed 4-up layout that groups all four employee copies together.

Copy A is the red-scannable employer copy, mailed to the SSA in a batch with your W-3. Copy D is the employer’s own records copy, and Copy 1 is the employer’s state, city, or local copy. Copy 2 is the matching employee copy for that jurisdiction. The remaining two copies — Copy B, the employee’s federal copy, and Copy C, the employee’s file copy — print together on one shared sheet instead of two separate 2-up sheets, which is what makes this set condensed rather than a full 6-sheet traditional layout.

Print each copy as its own batch, then separate the sheets and collate them by employee before mailing. Batch-mail the employer copies to the SSA along with your W-3 transmittal once collating is complete. Because Copy B and C share a sheet, there’s one fewer page to keep track of per employee compared with a standard 6-part traditional set.
