When Your State Requires More Than Six Parts

Some states — and certain cities within them — require more copies of the W-2 than the standard 6-part set provides. This preprinted 8-part traditional set adds a second employer state/city/local copy and a second employee state/city/local copy so filers in those jurisdictions have enough copies for every recipient.

Print each copy type as a batch, separate the stack, and collate it by employee. Batch-mail the employer copies to the SSA together with your W-3. Order a quantity equal to the number of employees for which you file.
