This 4-part traditional kit covers federal W-2 filing and ships with double-window self seal tamper evident envelopes, for employers who want visible proof if a mailed copy is opened before it reaches the recipient — useful when payroll documents pass through a shared mailroom or a third-party mail service.

The four copies cover federal filing only. Copy A is the red-scannable employer copy that goes to the SSA. Copy B is the employee’s federal copy for their own return, and Copy C is the employee’s file copy to keep. Copy D is the employer’s own records copy and stays in-house. There’s no Copy 1 or Copy 2 in this set, so it suits employers who don’t have a separate state, city, or local W-2 requirement to satisfy.

Print each copy as its own batch, then separate the stack and collate it by employee before mailing anything. Batch-mail the employer copies to the SSA together with your W-3 transmittal, and use the included tamper evident envelopes for each recipient’s mailed copy — the self seal closure means no moistening, and the tamper evident feature leaves a visible mark if the flap is pried open before delivery.
